Annual & International Conventions

IMANA's most spectacular event offers physicians and their families an entire week of learning, social activities, sight seeing and youth programs. Every alternate year IMANA holds its convention outside North America in a country with a significant Muslim population or heritage. Continuing Medical Education (CME) is available for participants.


Publications

IMANA publishes a bi-monthly scientific journal called Journal of Islamic Medical Association (JIMA), which is a source of professional and Islamic knowledge. The IMA NEWSLETTER is a bimonthly newsletter, which provides timely and regular updates on developments in IMANA and the International Institute of Islamic Medicine (IIIM).

Health Services & Medical Relief
IMANA is committed to promote health awareness among the communities and to provide medical aid to the victims of poverty, disease, natural disasters or war. IMANA not only provides medical supplies but also sends medical personnel to places where they are urgently required. IMANA's medical relief missions have provided timely and effective aid in Bosnia, Kosovo, Turkey, Venezuela, the Carolinas and Chechnya in recent years.

Scholarship & Research Assistance
IMANA has set up an education fund to provide assistance to deserving students. Since the advent of Islam, history has seen Islamic Medicine reach the highest levels of academic excellence and humanitarian service. IMANA firmly believes that Muslim physicians and researchers have a duty to make meaningful contribution to the medical profession and humanity in general. The education fund helps medical profession and humanity in general. The education fund helps medical research scientists to maintain this tradition of scholarly excellence and innovation.

Students & Residents Chapter

Muslim residents and students are the future of IMANA. One day the responsibility of promoting the aims of IMANA and assuming the role of leadership in their communities will be theirs. Ethics
Advancements in medical science correspond with new social consequences and moral questions. IMANA's Medical Ethics Committee aims to providing ethical guidelines in patient care from an Islamic perspective. Five Muslim ethics physicians from different specialties with religious scholar as an advisor comprise IMANA's Ethics Committee. The committee publishes articles and position statements on ethical issues and also provides answers to specific questions relating to such issues.

IMANA Fund
The IMANA fund has been established to ensure adequate financial support for its charitable projects. IMANA expects its members to donate generously in this fund. All donations are tax deductible.

Intl Institute of Islamic Medicine (IIIM)
IIIM, a project of IMANA is dedicated to research work on Islamic medicine and medical ethics. based in Brandon, FL., under the direction of some of the most experienced and dedicated scientists. IIIM sponsors research projects and the publication of books on Islamic medicine.

Federation of Islamic Medical Association (FIMA)
The Federation of Islamic Medical Association (FIMA) was established at an international forum sponsored by IMANA in 1982 in Orlando, FL. Social Platform
IMANA with its local chapters and frequent meetings across North America offers an opportunity to its members and their families to interact in a congenial environment.
