Thousands of women in Africa are suffering from Vesico-Vaginal Fistulas (VVF). VVF occurs after prolonged labor in rural areas where adequate obstetrics and gynecological health care is not available. VVF is a serious problem in Sudan, where many mothers give birth without any medical assistance. Due lack of accessible maternal care, their bodies undergo permanent anatomical damage resulting in VVF. Women suffering from VVF endure urinary and fecal incontinence. As a result, these women are shunned by their families and communities and are forced to leave their villages as outcasts. The number of young mothers suffering from VVF in Sudan is increasing day by day, resulting in more mothers becoming outcasts. More than 2 million women are currently living this way, suffering from this tragic yet treatable condition. The good news is IMANA in collaboration with PIMA (Pakistani Islamic medical association) is dedicated to providing the surgical care necessary to renew the dignity of these women. IMANA’s SaveDignity mission trip will truly make a difference and today is your opportunity to change a life forever. IMANA Medical Relief (IMR) seeks volunteers for this mission every March. SaveDignity urgently needs the following volunteers: 2 Anesthesiologist 1 Urologist 1 Gynecologist 1 General Surgeon
Make a donation or volunteer today to change a women’s life forever, because the gift of dignity is priceless!
