ACP Award for FIMA - Great News

In July 2008 the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations—FIMA and the Islamic Medical Association of North America—IMANA held a joint convention in Morocco .

Our key note speaker was Dr Jeffrey Harris current president of American College of Physicians an organization with over 120,000 members globally.

Dr Harris was very impressed with the meeting and suggested the FIMA Save Vision program be nominated for a very prestigious ACP Rosenthal award.

The deadline for submission had passed, however Jeff was able to obtain an Exemption for this submission, we got together the required five strong letters Of support, including Dr K.J.Qazi and Tanveer Mir along with some moving patient Testimonials. .

I just learnt that the submission from FIMA won the award, this is BIG news and A breakthrough for a Muslim organization, getting recognized by a mainstream American medical organization.

These awards are given at the annual convocation of ACP, next one is scheduled For last wk of April 2009 and will be held in Washington, it’s a glittering Ceremony with extensive media coverage.

It’s been a good week, first with the election results in USA and the news Regarding ACP award and it's been raining in Riyadh past three days, not Sure if that can be counted as good news.

Sincerely Yours,
