Please join IMANA’s 51st Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly in Cancun, Mexico. One of the most exciting aspects of this trip will be the tours, including a day tour to the ancient Chichen Itza Ruins! Located at the northern tip of the Yucatán Peninsula of modern Mexico, Chichen Itza was a Maya city which was later significantly influenced by the Toltec civilization. Flourishing between 750 and 1200 CE, the site is rich in monumental architecture and sculpture which promote themes of militarism, display imagery of jaguars, eagles, and feathered-serpents. You don’t want to miss out on this unique experience!
This past Sunday on January 28, 2018 at Islamic Community Center of Illinois (ICCI), Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA) held a Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED class in introduction of a comprehensive Holistic Heart Program, which includes the placement of an AED Unit.
The class serves as a beneficial guide to instruct participants on how to save a life in the event of a cardiac emergency. Participants benefited from attending, and showed gratitude to the program.
The second phase of the Holistic Heart Program will include faith community surveys and Heart Health presentations, tapered to meet the unique needs of the community, inshAllah, to decrease their risk of cardiac disease.
IMANA likes to thank ICCI for their warm welcome and hospitality. We are truly grateful for them welcoming us and hosting the class.
IMANA is also grateful for Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) for their support and diligence. We like to thank them for their contribution and humanitarian work that they provide across the world.
