March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States and the second leading cause of death from cancer. Colorectal cancer affects people in all racial and ethnic groups and is most often found in people age 50 and older. The good news? If everyone age 50 and older were screened regularly, 6 out of 10 deaths from colorectal cancer could be prevented. Communities, health professionals, and families can work together to encourage people to get screened. Download this toolkit to share the good news with your community.
The AED class instructs participants on how to save a life in the event of a cardiac emergency. The second phase of the Holistic Heart Program will include faith community surveys and Heart Health events, tailored to meet the unique needs of the community to decrease their risk of cardiac disease. The primary outcome is to successfully implement a holistic heart health program, a community-based program to apply best practices to reduce out of hospital mortality.
The next session is on March 24, 2018 at Masjid Al-Jumu’ah. The video below has some moments from the last session at Pace Lutheran Church.
