Yemen has been suffering from an unending conflict which has caused severe humanitarian and health crises in the country. A huge number of internally displaced people are living in refugee camps, without access to any form of healthcare. IMANA has launched a medical mission to Yemen to provide primary care and free treatment to these refugees.
There has been an acute shortage of medicines and supplies in its hospitals and clinics, causing untold misery to the common man. IMANA, in coordination with WHO and UMR, procured and delivered medicines and supplies worth over $70 million to fulfill this urgent need and contribute towards alleviating the acute shortage being experienced by Yemeni healthcare centers. These medicines were distributed to hospitals and healthcare centers in Aden, Sabah and Taz.
Five IMR volunteer teams have traveled to serve the people of Yemen since November 2019, providing healthcare services for 4,333 vulnerable Yemenis till the end of 2023. The Yemenis are suffering from malnutrition, acute shortage of medicines, and no access to hospitals.
