Dr. Labib Syed

Radiologist, New York

Labib H. Syed, MD, MPH, is a vascular and interventional specialist. He graduated from Universidad Iberoamericana Medical School and trained in a combined radiology/public health residency at the University of Rochester, followed by a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Syed is currently the CEO of S&L Readings, LLC, a teleradiology company. Prior to this role, he was an assistant professor of vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Rochester and the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Syed first volunteered with IMR in Gaza, followed by Sudan’s first-ever SaveSmile mission. He was involved in Haiti earthquake relief efforts and traveled to Libya’s border areas during the Arab Spring, assessing how the IMR could assist refugees fleeing to Tunisia.

He traveled to Pakistan during the floods and recently participated in a SaveRohingya mission. Currently a member of the executive committee for IMR and co-chair of IMANA’s CME committee, Dr. Syed’s commitment to both IMR and IMANA endures. A published researcher, his work has been presented both nationally and internationally, and he has authored five book chapters and over 20 peer-reviewed manuscripts. Dr. Syed and his family reside in Rochester, NY.
