The IMANA Internship Program is dedicated to serving as a resource, meeting the needs of college-aged students through structured experiential learning opportunities, mentoring, valuable health care industry connections, guidance, and resources essential for strengthening one’s career path.

Engagement Strategy

Professional Development Intern
This student will focus on the building blocks of IMANA’s strategy to engage individuals in all spectrums of life through personal and professional development opportunities.

This semester-long project will focus on projects such as:
Interviewing physicians
Content creation for students
Content creation for parents
Mentorship program

sustainability in public health

Climate Change

Sustainability Intern
This student will focus on rolling out a comprehensive sustainability plan that dedicates resources towards reducing our carbon footprint in addition to establishing IMANA as climate change leader for the healthcare community: focused on relief/action, education, and advocacy.

This semester-long project will focus on projects such as:
Content generation
Webinar development and execution
Establishing globally focused climate change initiatives

Founders Project

Library Sciences/Museum Studies Intern
This student will focus on collecting, preserving, and sharing IMANA’s legacy of over 50 years, serving as a catalyst to inspire a passionate and engaged IMANA community.

This semester-long project will focus on projects such as:
Capturing the stories of IMANA’s past presidents
Working on a booth/exhibit concept to capture the essence of our work

Frequently Asked Questions

When are internships offered?

Typically coincide with an academic semester: early September to early December for fall; early December to late January for winter; late January to late April for spring; and mid-May to early August for summer. The timeframe is approximately 12-16 weeks (part time or full time).

Where are internships offered?
Virtual: Intern works remotely with periodic checkpoints, eliminating geographic barriers (ideal for organizations that may not have the office space or personnel needed for supervision). Some travel to IMANA offices will be required.
Duration?

The timeframe is approximately 12-16 weeks (part time or full time).

Credit?
Yes. IMANA will help students complete any documentation necessary to obtain college credit through their university.
