With millions affected, hundreds dead, and thousands still awaiting rescue — many from rooftops or within trees — it’s estimated that Cyclone Idai could be the deadliest storm to hit Africa.
Aid will be necessary for months, possibly longer, to the southern African countries of Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi.
IMANA Medical Relief (IMR) is responding by procuring and airlifting Interagency Emergency Health Kits — stocked with life-saving medications and supplies — to treat 10,000 patients in each affected country up to three months. The total value of these kits is $600,000.
