The Department of Health in the US Virgin Islands needs help with its COVID response plan in the form of medical personnel and equipment, especially when the surge hits the Islands. FEMA has requested IMANA to provide the personnel while it arranges the needed equipment and supplies.

IMANA Medical Relief is deploying its medical relief teams, in collaboration with FEMA, to hospitals in St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John, Our volunteers will do 10 day rotations, travel there on a Friday, orientation day Saturday, work Sunday to Saturday and return on Sunday. The incoming team will be orientated and briefed by the outgoing teams while working together on Saturdays.

In consultation with the USVI Department of Health, IMR will deploy its medical relief teams to hospitals in St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John for 3 weekly rotations as below. These dates coincide with the best forecast for a maximum surge in cases in the Virgin Islands:

• Team 1 – May 22nd – May 31st  (Registration Closed)  
• Team 2 – May 29th – June 7th (Registration Closed)
• Team 3 – June 5th – June 14th (Registration Closed)

All the expenses will be covered by FEMA, including air travel, food, and lodging

We request your help to assist USVI DOH and FEMA in this time of critical need. We are seeking volunteers from the following specialties:

• Emergency Medicine
• Intensivists
• Internal medicine
• Family Practice (experienced in in-patient care)
• Fellows and Residents (final year only)  from the above specialties only will be accepted
• PAs/NPs
• RNs
• Paramedic
• Certified Medical Assistant
• Respiratory Therapists
